INSTRUCTION
DIVERS DEN, Maryland's first SCUBA diving training facility, was established in 1958. We have certified generations of divers using the PADI system, the world's most recognized certifying agency. The professionals at Divers Den can introduce you to the wonders of underwater exploration; or if you are already certified, we can offer you new training and more adventures. OPEN WATER CERTIFICATION Our OPEN WATER CLASSES, the first level of diver certification, are scheduled throughout the year so that you are never far from the start of our next weekly course. We offer two different pathways to certification - a weekend course or a weekly course. Your tuition of $274.00 includes classroom
and pool training and use of tank, regulator, Buoyancy Compensating
Device and weight belt for all pool sessions. Open Water Crew Pack
w/ videos or DVD A second student may share the DVD's or videos, but will be required to purchase a Open Water Crew Pak which cost $55.00. For those who choose to do the certification dives locally, their will be a $99.00 charge for weekend equipment rental which includes tanks, regulator with underwater computer, Buoyancy Compensating Device, weight belt, full cold water wet suit with hood, compass and Padi Certification Card. Quarry Fees are additional! Each student is required to have one of our student systems, consisting of mask, fins, snorkel and mesh bag. We also highly recommend a short wetsuit or full 3MM jump suit, as even with our pool temperatures being between 78 and 82 degrees, you will find being uncomfortable distracts from the learning process. For those students completing their open water dives with Divers Den, boots and gloves will be required for the quarry dives. Consulting with our professional staff before making your equipment purchase will reassure that you have a correct, comfortable fit. This system is available to you at
a special student price. One of our equipment specialists will gladly
help you with fit and selection. Advanced Open Water The PADI Open Water program provides the novice diver
with a structured, well supervised means to gain additional experience.
The PADI advanced program involves you in various underwater tasks
that broaden your awareness of the environment and develops your capabilities
as a diver. RESCUE DIVER Rescue Diver is the fourth level of diver certification. The course consists of six hours of classroom instruction and a weekend of open water instruction. Upon the completion of this course you will be recognized as a diver trained to respond to emergency situations. DIVEMASTER PROGRAM Divemaster classes, the first level of certification as a professional diver, are scheduled on an appointment basis throughout the year. The Divemaster program is a rigorous program designed to give the recreational scuba diver a thorough knowledge of diving on three levels: watermanship and skills, diving knowledge, and practical applications. The Divemaster schedule requires a great deal of commitment and enthusiasm on the part of each person involved. Classroom lectures and pool programs must therefore be decided upon after your acceptance into the program. Divers Den also offers Wreck, Night, Deep, Line tending and Surface Supplied Air Courses. There are sign up sheets for these programs, as we require a minimum number of students before the course is started. Surface Supplied Air Courses are now available through Divers Den. The following courses are now offered:
