INSTRUCTION

DIVERS DEN, Maryland's first SCUBA diving training facility, was established in 1958. We have certified generations of divers using the PADI system, the world's most recognized certifying agency. The professionals at Divers Den can introduce you to the wonders of underwater exploration; or if you are already certified, we can offer you new training and more adventures.

OPEN WATER CERTIFCATION

The OPEN WATER CLASS is the first level of diver certification and scheduled throughout the year so that you are never far from the start of our next course.

Our Open Water Program is divided into two parts, Confined water which is classroom and pool training and the Open Water, which is the actual certification dives.

The tuition for Confined Water training is  $299.00 and includes your own PADI Open Water Diving Manuel, a loaner PADI DVD (while you are in training) instructor and pool fees, the use of tanks, regulator, buoyancy compensating device and weight belt for all pool sessions.

For those individuals that may have enrolled in the PADI Online Open Water course and have listed Divers Den as your educator of choice you will receive a $40.00 credit toward your tuition.

Each student is required to provide a personal diving system consisting of mask, snorkel, boots, fins and log book. We highly recommend a mesh equipment bag and a wetsuit, as even with our pool temperatures being 78 to 82 degrees, you will find being uncomfortable distracts from the learning process.

Upon satisfactorily completing all the required Confined water skills and the final written exam, referral documents will be issued to complete the required open water dives for certification. These dives can be conducted with us, which we highly recommend or anywhere in the world at a qualified PADI training facility.

If certifying with Divers Den the cost will be $99.for the weekend Open Water Training with your own equipment or $150. if you need to rent equipment which  will  include tanks, regulator with underwater computer, compass, buoyancy compensating device, weight belt, and full cold water wet suit with hood. The PADI certification card and processing fees are also included, a $39.00 value.

There will be additional equipment requirements and expenses to complete your Open Water training. These will be the purchase of diving gloves, quarry entrance fees of $20.00 per day for two days and additional air fills as required.

Consulting with our professional staff before making any of your equipment purchases will assure that you have a proper comfortable fit. Diving systems are available to you, as Divers Den students at a special price. Our equipment specialists will gladly help you with selection and fit.
