search and recovery diver

Have you ever dropped something in the water? Are you looking for lost treasure? The Search and Recovery Diver Specialty course will teach you effective ways to find objects underwater and bring them to the surface.
What do I need to start?
  • Advanced Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization) OR
  • Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver AND Underwater Navigation certifications (or qualifying certification from another organization)
  • Minimum age: 12 years old

What will I do?
You'll learn search and recovery dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and potential problems. You'll also cover limited visibility, search patterns and safe object recovery using lift devices.The planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of wreck diving.

How long will it take?
One Classroom Session followed by Four Search and Recovery Dives typically over a weekend / two days. You can check the course schedule here

Search and Recovery-Pack, which includes manual, video and log insert

  • Access to Dive Site

  • Scuba Equipment (BCD, Regulator, Gauges, Tanks , Weights, etc). These items can be rented
  • Swimsuit, towel and personal hygiene items

Where can I go from here?
Get credit! The first dive of this Specialty Diver course may credit as an Adventure Dive toward your Advanced Open Water Diver certification. You can also apply this specialty course towards your Master Scuba Diver certification – ask your instructor about earning these credits.
